New Stuff On Sports And Diabetes, Including Pre-Diabetes

A new phrase has struck a different cord in me lately if you don’t exercise your body will turn rancid. Exaggeration? Not as much as you might think. Much is known now about why there is a steady deterioration in tissue health if we don’t exercise. Sports and exercise are compatible.

If you don’t do this or that you’re fired – now, that’s what I call a motivational phrase. One that can put a spur in my butt, at least. Everyone can list a few benefits of regular exercise, but most of the time the reason’s don’t last for motivation to exercise. Sports and diabetes, I mean, it’s really hard to get yourself to exercise, even if your health demands it.

Visceral fat is a term for the greasy globs of fat wrapped around your gut. And this mess is surrounded by greasy globs of fat just under your skin. Lack of exercise plays a roll in how it got there, but we need to know much more about visceral fat if we are to be shocked enough to gym up.

The bomber got there because of all of that rich food you’ve been throwing back. But he really got going when your activity died off. Exercise could have stopped it.

Visceral fat is where all the action in when it comes to burning you down to the ground. Systemic inflammation, can put you into the ground. And, all of this is tied to that bomb factory, the visceral fat bound to your gut which encourages systemic inflammation.

Systemic inflammation is like a smoldering wood fire. It eats up the combustable s little by little until everything is gone. When the damage shows itself it’s too late to reverse.

Myokines are enzymes, expediters, released by skeletal muscles during exercise. They can reverse the systemic inflammation generated by visceral fat. And, they do this apparently by acting more like a hormone.

Anti-inflammatory effects are continuos as long as there is continuous exercise. Why? Because each bout of exercise can only release a set amount of beneficial enzymes. Use it or loose it works the same here as it does in buffing up. The only difference is that loosing muscle tone is much less problematic than loosing an organ like a pancreas, as with diabetes. Sports and diabetes, exceedingly beneficial

Movement is critical to animal-human existence. During our long evolution many systems developed their energy economy based upon other organ activity. Leg veins depend upon leg muscle contraction to squeeze blood upwards. They do this because they have developed no muscles to do this themselves. Many of our systems are in the same fix. Lack of movement in modern life is defeating the way we were constructed to survive. Use it or loose it is an absolute reality.
