Sports Nutrition And Athletic Health
To those who do not know, it is quite a pleasure to announce that sports nutrition health is extremely detrimental to an athlete’s performance. Why detrimental?
This is what drives athletes to prioritize their health and maintain a healthy lifestyle to be able to excel in their sport. How can you play your sport well if you do not have the energy nor do you have the muscle strength to run fast or to jump high?
However, there are certain factors that can prevent you from attaining that sports nutrition health that is deemed to appropriate for your status.
You, assuming that you are an athlete or thinking of becoming one, must, first and foremost, understand the principles of sports nutrition completely. What is the point of staying healthy when you do not even know what being healthy is all about?
You must also avoid engaging yourself in false beliefs and misconceptions. Myths are completely different from facts, and your sports nutrition health is indeed a fact so do not, under any circumstances, mix unreal and unproven principles with facts. Doing so will do a great deal in compromising your health, thus, your career as an athlete.
You must also take note of nutrition requirements that are related to your training program. Failure to recognize these said requirements would bring bad effects to your health status. Why? You might be taking carbohydrates all right but not in the right amount or in the amount that is appropriate for you. So there will either be an excess or a lack, and neither is helpful for your health status.
There is a fine line between having a good sports nutrition health and dieting to lose fat. In fact, it is not just a fine line but a huge line. Do not mistake them to be the same thing or else your health will be compromised.
You may have an extremely busy schedule, being an athlete and all, but you must still consume appropriate amount of food. So you must manage your time well to have an adequate time for eating. Time management is definitely the key.
For starters, you may not be financially stable right away, but that is how it always is when you are just beginning. However, this scarcity of finances might be a factor for you not to be able to attain adequate food supplies.
For those who are already making it big, your sports nutrition health should always come first. This means you have to manage your money efficiently so that you can have the appropriate supply of food, and still have enough to spend on those blings.
Frequent travelling might also be a factor to a faltering sports nutrition health. Aside from the fact that it is expensive, there is also a huge tendency that you will be taking your food on the road.
This will then minimize the selection of your food to those that are portable, which will leave out the food that are difficult for you to carry but important for your sports nutrition health. The time for eating should also not be modified.
Sports nutrition health experts break sports nutrition health down to what food is basically made up of, that would be protein, carbohydrates and fats. These components are very important but an excess would be a cause of a nutritional downfall.
Fats are the things that you should be more concerned about since these are the ones that “decide” what kind of figure to give your body.
You must not lose more than one half pound of fat in a week because if this happens, your body will individually think that you are undergoing a fasting, trying to starve yourself.
If this is the case, your metabolism slows down since there is a need to conserve calories that have been used and also since your muscles will be used as sources of energy.
So listen to these tips and you will be on your way to stardom as a successful athlete, but still keep your sports nutrition health very much intact. Why? It is because without proper sports nutrition health, you will not have a chance or an opportunity to be a successful athlete. An athlete yes, but a successful one? Think again.

EXT Cancer Nutrition
EXT.COM Nutrition education should be top of the list of education topics addressed in healthcare today
There is clearly a lack of both medical education and leadership by governmental agencies on nutritional education. While health associations such as the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, and the American Heart Association all claim that up to 70 percent of common diseases are avoidable through proper nutrition, the message simply has not made it down to the medical colleges, nor to the general public. While the internet is a large source for information for many patients, they still turn to their doctor for advice. But doctors are not apt to give out nutritional advice when they have only taken a class or two when in medical school. The lack of nutritional education is hurting us all.
Cost of a Poor Education
Today more than 60 percent of the population of the United States is considered overweight. This number has exploded in the last 30 years, when only 10 to 20 percent of the population was considered overweight. Likewise, other diseases have also increased:
Diabetes, which used to be less than one percent of the population is now approaching 15 percent.
Heart disease is now one of the most common killers of women.
Cancer has overtaken heart disease as the number one killer and a new report out by the World Health Organization says that cancer will be the number one world-wide killer by 2010.
The cost of poor nutritional information extracts a heavy toll on our health.
Nutrition
The foods that we eat become the basic building blocks of our bodies. The better nutrition we put in our bodies, the better our bodies function and the less disease we are likely to encounter. A balanced and healthy diet means more than simply avoiding disease, a healthy diet has been shown to: Increase energy and vitality of life.
Help you to maintain a healthy weight.
Boost your immune system.
Keep people active throughout their lives
Protect mental capabilities.
Healthcare needs to take a step forward and understand that preventing a disease is far easier than trying to treat one. Good nutrition should start at the medical doctor’s office, but should also be a part of the education of our children and adults. There is a missed opportunity in not educating ourselves and our doctors to the importance of proper nutrition.
Proper nutrition is essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle before and after a cancer diagnosis. Nutrition education and assistance programs, therefore, should be funded and implemented immediately at both a national and local level.

Nutrition For Your Cells (Part 3)
Nutrition For Our Cells (Part 3)
(Continued from Nutrition For Your Cells (Part 2) – Getting Toxins Out Of Our Bodies and Nutrition In.)
By Warren Tattersall and Susan Smith
GETTING NUTRITION TO YOUR CELLS: Absorption
How do we absorb nutrition into our bodies?
What I mean is that we have a plate of food sitting on the table in front of us and somehow we get the nutrition from that food into our bodies and delivered to our cells so that we can keep strong and healthy.
How does all that work?
When you eat food it goes through a definite process.
You start by breaking it or cutting it into manageable size pieces.
Next, you chew the food to break it down and at the same time, the saliva in your mouth introduces enzymes into the food that begin to break it down also.
The food goes to your stomach where the stomach acids and the action of the stomach break it down further to a soup like consistency.
It then enters the small intestine where there are further enzymes breaking it down to even finer elements.
This reduces the food to small enough particles for your body to absorb them.
Most of the nutrition that absorbs into your body does so through the small intestine.
The intestine itself is very long, about 6.5 m (22 ft) long.
The walls of the intestine are not flat but corrugated.
Upon them are the villi and on them tiny micro-villi.
These are small finger like protrusions that wave in the food “soup” and absorb nutrition.
One Indian doctor I met described the effect as being like having a seaweed forest on the inside of your intestine that the food passes through.
Just as the seaweed draws nutrition out of the ocean, so the villi and micro villi draw nutrition out of the food we have eaten.
The villi draws the nutrients through the walls of the small intestine and deposits them into the blood steam or the lymph system, which then takes them through out the body and delivers them where needed to support new cells being created and cellular regeneration.
Also, just like the seaweed that becomes torn up and thrown on the beach during a storm, our villi is delicate and can be easily damaged. Just like the seaweed our villi is intended to regenerate quickly.
If we stress the villi too much they become brittle and break off and under continued stress, they do not regenerate but become broken and stumpy.
They then can be covered with fats from the food we eat and a build up of mucus creates an effective barrier that prevents much of the nutrition from the food we eat, to be absorbed.
When this happens the villi are said to be “Energetically Impaired”.
The things that stress the villi are:
? Poor food choices, high fats, high sugar, low fibre.
? Irregular eating patterns.
? Irregular sleep patterns, (very common for shift workers).
? Environmental toxins as we discussed earlier.
? The Two Worst Factors for Damaging villi are: Antibiotics and Stress.
Do you know anyone who has been under stress lately? Not getting regular, nutritious meals? Having broken sleep times? Using antibiotics?
These lifestyle issues just seem to be part of everyday living in modern society.
If you are noticing that you are often weary, not handling stress as well as you would expect, losing concentration in the afternoon, waking up without feeling rested, then it is very likely that you have ‘Energetically Impaired’ villi.
A study by the Cambridge University many years ago concluded that the surface area of the inside of the small intestine of an average adult male would be somewhere in the region of Two Soccer Ovals!
If the same person had fully Energetically Impaired villi that surface area could be as little as One Tennis Court!
Imagine lawn fertilizer being poured over two soccer ovals and then imagine the same fertilizer being poured over a single tennis court. Of course, much would run off the tennis court, and the same principle applies to our villi.
If they are ‘Energetically Impaired’ then we are starved of nutrition, no matter what we eat.
In this case the body is not able to produce new healthy cells at the level it should and our system suffers.
This has been like making a photocopy of a photo. The copy is okay but maybe not quite as good as the original.
If we then photocopy the copy, the image is a little worse.
When we get eight or ten copies from the original we may not even be able to tell what the original photo was!
In our body this equates to things starting to go wrong and them being run down.
with a modern, scientifically constructed, nutrition program with the right mix of mixture of herbs and botanical factors along with the vitamins and minerals we need, promotes the regeneration of the villi.
In a normal, healthy person we expect to see this process of rebuilding the villi, accompanied by a measurable change in personal energy, within about three days of starting on the products.
Once this happens it is like copying the original photograph with each photo getting better and better.
In our bodies this shows as the cells becoming healthier and healthier and we find ourselves feeling better and better.

In my experience I have counseled clients with many ailments and through Proper Nutrition and Personalized Programs have been able to restrict and even overcome their adverse situations. Today as more and more successes are being experienced through Wellness Coaching and Consultation, I have decided to share with you some secrets to help you improve your life.
WEIGHT GAIN
For most of you to obtain Proper Nutrition i.e. getting the right amount of protein, carbs, fruits, vegetables, minerals, amino acids, pyhtonutrients, vitamins, etc. you feel that you to have to eat literally huge amounts of food. That is not true! In fact quite the opposite is what is required; you have to know just how to get it. There are literally supplements for every deficiency on the market today and without getting the right amount for your needs you can end up putting on extra weight.
OBESITY
Weight gain comes about because you consume foods that are high in calories and low in nutrients, e.g. Fried foods, fatty foods, sugary foods high carbohydrates and not enough of fruits, vegetables, vitamins, minerals, etc. Your body stores the excess as fat and the bulging result is weight gain. A constant supply of these types of foods leads to obesity and further complications like diabetes.
DIABETES
Diabetes occurs when your blood sugar is elevated from consuming foods that have a high content of simple carbohydrates like white rice, white flour and sugar, all forms of it. When this happens you need to control your intake of these types of foods and that will help your blood sugar level become normal again. You require supplements that prevent you from craving sweets and stop the constant urge of snacking that you are experiencing. Gymnema and Garcinia Cambogia will absolutely help you achieve this. You must consume these as part of a healthy and nutritional balanced meal, to avoid side effects and deficiencies in other areas. When done properly you will experience less craving, bring you blood sugar level to a more normal range, more satisfaction from your meals, feeling full for longer and enjoy lots of energy and even weight loss.
HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
High Blood pressure occurs when you increase pressure on your circulatory system. You gain weight and your one and only heart has to now pump blood to support more areas or mass so that your entire body including where weight gain has taken place also gets blood and is getting nourishment. You also now have extra pressure on the veins and arteries that transport the blood. The pressure is applied of the additional weight on the walls of these vessels causing the heart to work harder than ever before resulting in High Blood Pressure. Further complications can result leading to cardiovascular problems.
HEART PROBLEMS
Your diet is not healthy, your cholesterol and triglycerides are now at unhealthy levels. You get plaques inside your arteries and an overwhelmed heart. This can lead to strokes and even heart attacks. So, now you have to lower your cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure before serious events take place. Take control of what you put into your body spare parts are difficult and expensive to come by.
TAKE CONTROL
Although this all seems bleak or overwhelming the opposite is true. Everything begins with Nutrition or Proper Nutrition. And it has to encompass the Body as a Whole to avoid side effects. Get the right amounts for your individual need. ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL. Focus on your condition and keep a balance for the rest of your body to benefit and experience total well being. You may be surprised; reduce or even eliminating prescription drugs and medications ARE NORMAL WITH THIS THERAPY. And your doctor will be the one recommending this.
Weight Loss will help tremendously and obesity will decline as you consume fewer calories while maintaining a diet that is rich in nutrients. You will receive fullness and satisfaction from your meals while enjoying a high level of energy. Diabetics plan will include products with little or no sugar and special supplements to correct the brain function that triggers hunger. High Blood Pressure sufferers will have ingredients that prevent water retention and calm the nerves for high anxiety and stress along with low sodium. Cardiovascular and taking care of your heart will require Omega 3, Nitric oxide production therapy and a supplement that supports the heart function and keeps blood vessels toned and flexible.
The administration of nutrition and the individual is vital. So, get help from a professional. With the right products, correct amounts, expert coaching and proper nutrition you can make this your personal goal to achieving your health freedom and proper nutrition.
Thank you for allowing me to share this report with you. My hope is to make sure that everyone gets an opportunity to experience a Healthy and Productive life.

Nutrition Vs. Diet: are You Getting the Nutrients Your Body Needs?
Today we hear the word diet much more than we hear the word nutrition. There are so many diets on the market that it’s easy to get lost in the fad and forget what nutrition truly is. There is the Atkins Diet, the Zone Diet, Weight Watchers and many others, from Slim Fast to the various one-food diets, such as the cabbage soup diet or the grapefruit diet. Society has become fixated on the ‘diet’, instead of quality nutrition. Unfortunately, this fixation isn’t working. America is the fattest nation in the world, with high rates of diabetes, heart disease and other life threatening illnesses. While diets are becoming more popular, nutrition is suffering.
What is a diet?
While many people think a diet is a set of rules you follow to try to lose weight, your diet is actually the food that you eat to supply your body with the nutrients it needs to function properly. While an average American diet consists of large quantities of processed sugar, white flour, meat and fast foods, a healthy diet is one that supplies the body with vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants and enzymes. These nutritional building blocks affect your energy levels, your quality of life, and have a direct affect on your mood, memory, eyesight, body functions and lifespan. Without a healthy diet that supplies the body with much needed nutrients, you are more susceptible to colds, infections, and illnesses. Your diet, in other words your nutrition, is what sustains your life.
Nutritional Labels
There is much confusion surrounding nutritional labels. Most people look strictly toward the top for calories, fat grams and serving size information. The truth is that nutritional labels offer a look at the nutrients in one’s food, such as vitamins A, C, D and E, as well as calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and folic acid. This information, although lower down on the nutritional label, is very important information if you are seeking to supply your body with nutrients, as opposed to empty calories.
The most important aspect of a nutritional label, although almost completely overlooked, is the actual ingredients within your food. While it may be easier to check to see how many calories and fat grams a certain food product has in each serving, when it comes to healthy nutrition the most important ingredient is what you are actually ingesting. It may have only 220 calories, but where are those calories coming from? Are you ingesting mostly corn syrup and sodium phosphate, or high amounts of preservatives, such as sorbic acid and sulfur dioxide? The ingredients in your food are the tell-tale clues to how much nutrition you are actually taking in. If your food is strictly cheese and flour, as opposed to nutrient providing vegetables and vitamins, it doesn’t really matter if the calories are low.
A Nutritional Diet
Nutrition comes from vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Food sources that are rich with nutrients are whole, living foods that are supplied from the earth. Dark leafy greens offer more calcium than milk, while beans and grains offer high amounts of iron. It is easy to turn your focus from diet to nutrition. And when you do, you might find yourself eating a diet that is rich in nutrients and optimal for losing weight.
